Never too young to make a difference

Whether you are a recent graduate, a parent of young children or old, an adventure-seeker, a retiree (or all of the above!), we are all creating and living a legacy whether we know it or not. You may call it a bucket list, resolutions, your raison d’être or simply put: how you want to be remembered.

Regardless of where you are on your legacy journey, if you are old enough to plan for your future and have a soft spot for your community, you can begin planning with a purpose... that has benefits!

Planned giving made easy

The Forever Fund is an endowment fund that helps to streamline your planned giving needs by providing a central access point to multiple charities.

We partner with and provide ongoing annual investments to the United Way of Central NB who know and understand the immediate and long-term needs of our community and the 30+ local charities they support.

As a result, our annual investments have cascading positive impacts that deliver life-changing projects and services that help children, youth and families reach their full potential.

Managed by reputable financial institutions, the Forever Fund has clear investment goals and follows a rigorous process to ensure the United Way of Central NB has the essential and ongoing funding it needs to carry out the important work they do now and into the future.

Established in 1998,

the Forever Fund began with one person’s desire to make a difference in his community. This initial gift has inspired many others to show their local love and build on their legacy.

1980s

Franklin F. Creighton made a bequest of $444,550. Funds were administered by the Fredericton Foundation (now the Fredericton Community Foundation Inc.)

The United Way of Central NB established an Endowment Fund with the income from the Creighton bequest at its heart. All future bequests to the United Way, that were not otherwise directed, would be included as principal in the fund.

Three Focus Areas

Our communities are faced with many issues that affect the health, well-being, and contributions of our neighbours. When we look at these challenging issues alone, we can get overwhelmed and want to look away. But when we work together, we can create change and find solutions.

Strong Communities

Poverty to Possibility
